Senior Companions Available this Summer in Diamond Bar

The Summer is starting off pleasantly enough - it's just hot enough to go out for a swim, or but cool enough to go out and enjoy the sun! But as the month of July progresses and enters into August, Southern California weather has a habit of turning into some very heated and uncomfortable temperatures. For most average adults and adolescents, the heat is bearable, but for infants and elderly seniors, the heat can be very hazardous to their health, and sometimes even fatal.

Since Summer is also a busy time for everyone, what with the kids out during summer school vacation and most adults off at work, it seems there is no one left to care for the elderly members in the family. Therefore the only way to ensure that these seniors receive the care they deserve to protect them from potential dangers this summer is to provide them with a caretaker. And as Los Angeles and Orange County's most trusted caregiver service agency, we would like to invite you to try our caregivers. Trained with 2 years or more of caregiver experience, our senior home heath aides are able to assist with any task, be it in the home or at a facility. They are available for temporary care, Overnight and even 24 Hours. Aside from our most popular services, such as Live in or In Home senior care, our elderly caregivers are also adept at providing Incontinence Care, Alzheimer's & Dementia Care and Companion Care.

Call our office now at 909 861 7700 to inquire about our caregiver services. Check us out online at Diamond Bar In Home Care and like us on Facebook!

American Heart Month with A-1 Home Care

Did you know that Feburary is American Heart Month? A-1 Home Care will be focusing on cardiovascular health.

Cardiovascular disease, like heart attack and stroke, is the number one killer of adults and seniors in America. Both low and moderate-intensity exercise cut the risk of cardiovascular disease by 20%. Exercise is refreshing and beneficial to the body in general, with positive effects regarding other illnesses such ass cancer. Just 15 minutes of brisk walking per day significantly cut cancer rates.

These results suggest that if people doing little or no activity now were to begin adding just 15 minutes a day of brisk walking, 6 days a week, one in six deaths from any cause could be postponed. That potential benefit ranks with a successful tobacco control program in the general population.

Call us today for Heart Attack Caregivers if you live in Diamond Bar, Claremont, La Verne, Montclair, Pomona, Baldwin Park, Walnut and other cities in San Bernardino,Los Angeles and Orange County.

Exercise limitations for older adults/ In Home Care for Seniors

Many older people think that exercise is not practical or possible for them. Those who are in frail or weak health, or even in wheelchairs believe that they do not have the option to exercise.

However, fitness and exercise is available to everyone.

There are specific postures that are viable for elderly adults in weak condition, but as a general rule, light balance exercises and stretches are good for retaining the muscle strength and flexibility required in daily activities such as walking, driving, grocery shopping, and more.

Balance exercises can help you stay independent by helping you avoid the disabilities that could result from falling. Stretching exercises can give you more freedom of movement, which will allow you to be more active during your senior years. Stretching exercises alone, however,  will not improve your endurance or strength.

We at A-1 Home Care encourage you to seek out senior resources at the community center and consult your physician to better understand your physical capacities and limits.
