In-Home Caregiving Services In Diamond Bar Include 'Going Green' Assistance For Better Elder Health

With the holiday of green fast approaching, have you considered staying that way for well into the future?
At A-1 Home Care in Diamond Bar, our senior care experts promote diversity in character and diligence in the environment, improving senior home health with years of experience already and an understanding of starting-- and staying-- green.
Our diverse caregivers extend helping hands and a golden heart to people from all walks of life, including Asian, Middle Eastern, Jewish, and European, and offer only the most affordable elder care services you’ll find anywhere in Los Angeles and Orange County.
Check out 3 reasons below why every small step you take to go green doesn’t just help the environment as a whole—it also improves your beloved senior’s personal health in the home.
1) Improves air health. If your beloved elder suffers from a respiratory issue, going green may very well be the most comprehensive answer to improving his/her home health going forward. Going green helps improve air quality by reducing the amount of harmful substances floating around in the atmosphere—so every time you recycle, reuse, or reduce, your elder’s health gets that much closer to being restored.
2) Improves food health. With harmful chemicals caused by pollutants circling the atmosphere, some of them end up leaching onto your elder’s favorite foods along the way. Reducing pollution gives you the confidence that you're even doing the little things to improve your elder's food health.
3) Reduces climate change. A-1 Home Care's companion care experts provide simple, practical ways to reduce harmful air pollutants in the immediate environment that are otherwise known to increase harmful climate change and global warming when left unchecked.

5 Gardening Safety Tips For Seniors

Many seniors love to garden and watch their hard work spring up into fruitful (pun intended!) and full-grown manifestations of those tiny seeds they started planting weeks or months before.
Because of the love many seniors have for gardening, we at A-1 Home Care look to provide practical gardening safety tips to help them avoid injuring themselves as they enjoy such a neat activity.
Take a look below at some of the helpful gardening safety tips our in-home care providers look to provide seniors of all ages who have a big green thumb:
  1. Check your whole yard for potential safety hazards. Have a friend or family member walk through your yard with you to check for any unyielding roots, rocky ground, loose areas of dirt, or any other potential falling hazards in your garden.
     2.   Correct those things you happen to find that could be hazardous to you as you're gardening. Wear long sleeves, long pants, and gloves for enhanced safety against any branch or sticker that might scratch you as you're clearing out an area with potential hazards. You should also wear goggles to help protect your eyes as you clean out your garden.
     3.   Have your cell phone with you when you're gardening. This allows you to call for help immediately in the case of a bad fall.
     4.    Use a walking stick when you're near uneven ground, as this will give you additional support that could be the difference between a nasty fall and catching your balance just in time. You can also use a cane or a ski pole instead.
     5.    Don't climb up and down ladders, or get on top of overturned buckets or anything else that isn't already firmly rooted in the ground and meant for support. The risk-- falling down from the elevated position-- is far greater than the reward!
For more information on proper gardening safety tools, give the home care professionals at A-1 Home Care a call today at (909) 861-7700. With senior services ranging from companion care to home helpers, A-1 Home Care is proud to serve Diamond Bar and other communities in Los Angeles and Orange County, including cities like Malibu, Garden Grove, Irvine, Century City, and Seal Beach.
